Teens for Animals

Are you an animal-loving teen, 13-17 years old?

We’re looking for animal-loving youth with a passion for learning about animal care and welfare, helping animals in their community, exploring animal-related careers, and developing public speaking and leadership skills.  Teens for Animals is an outreach program modeled after our Humane Teen Club.  Classes are held offsite and cater to South King County residents.  Currently, meetings are facilitated in Des Moines and intended to empower youth to become advocates for animals in their community.  In addition, teens that complete this program can volunteer on the Seattle Humane campus.  Each class will discuss a new topic related to animal welfare and a variety of animal interactions will be provided throughout the year. Apply today!

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled or the application deadline (Aug. 26), whichever comes first. Due to space limitations we can only accept 20 teens each year. Teens are chosen based on thoughtfulness and thoroughness of their answers to essay questions and ability to demonstrate their commitment to helping animals in need. We encourage completion of the application process as soon as possible, and will give acceptance priority on a first come, first served basis.

Well Hello There!

We adopted brother and sister cats who love to play, explore, and be loved. They're also great with our grandchildren and have brought a lot of fun to our household.
