David Loewe
Chief Executive Officer

David Loewe joined Seattle Humane in November 2006 and has held the role of CEO/President since 2010. In the event of emergencies, David also leads our Disaster Response and Recovery Program.

Prior to Seattle Humane, David spent many years in management of operations and engineering roles in commercial nuclear power with Wolf Creek Nuclear, high speed European passenger rail with Talgo-America and GPS-Data collection systems with Connected NW-Nextel.

As a self-proclaimed '"Cat Guy," David has had both dogs and cats in his life - including "Tucker" who can be seen on the side of our Chelsea Rescue Rider.

David's vision and passion for our agency has shown with the completion of our new shelter campus. David recently said "I am so proud of our new facility and the impact it will have on animal welfare - both locally and regionally."

Brynn Blanchard
Vice President of Development

Brynn joined Seattle Humane staff after working for six years at the Point Defiance Zoo Society in Tacoma, where she led the organization's largest capital campaign in its 103-year history. At Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, she held a variety of fundraising positions including Deputy Director, Interim Executive Director and Major Gifts and Grants Manager. She is a founding board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, South Sound Chapter, and a member of South Sound Planned Giving Council.

Ken Farmer
Chief Financial Officer

Ken joined Seattle Humane in 1984 as an accountant. He has held numerous financial positions since then including Controller and Finance Director. Currently Ken serves as the Chief Financial Officer. Ken originally came to Seattle from Chicago to attend Seattle Pacific University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, and he has lived in the region ever since.



Lisa Drake 
Chief Operations Officer

Lisa joined Seattle Humane in 2011 with 10 years of clinical experience in both small animal and emergency veterinary practices. While at Seattle Humane, Lisa has served as the Veterinary Services Manager, as well as the Clinic Director. Lisa holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and obtained her LVT license in 2006 after graduating from Pierce College's Veterinary Technology program. Lisa lives in Seattle with her husband and their cats, including SH alum Ame. 


Well Hello There!

Chunk and his new brother Kernel are getting along greatly now. They love to play! Chunk is a love bug and wants cuddles all the time, which I just adore.
